Google has announced that its seller rating extensions application will be rolled out to the UK and Germany market. This follows a successful US launch period. The service fundamentally works by attaching a company's merchant star rating from Google Product Search to all AdWords commercials, thus helping to show users which brands have been highly recommended by other online shoppers. It was launched in the UK on the 3rd November 2010 and will start appearing in AdWords commercials a few days thereafter. Dan Friedman, a member of the Inside AdWords team, told users that it’s been used successfully by thousands of advertisers in the US since its release earlier this year. "We're encouraged by the results we've seen and over time we plan to bring seller rating extensions to more users in more locations," he said. There is no charge from Google when a user clicks on a review link from the application– this only occurs when the headline of an advert is selected. |
